Chamber Choir
Chamber Choir
Founded in 1998, the 17cҳ Tech Chamber Choir is an auditioned SATB ensemble comprised of talented vocalists from across campus. Its members are primarily all-state-level singers with extensive backgrounds in choral singing. The ensemble performs a wide variety of repertoire from the Renaissance to living composters. Rehearsals are held in West Village on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:15 PM.
Repertoire varies from semester to semester and includes large and small works in the standard repertoire (both unaccompanied and with instruments) modern music, music of the Global South, and modern music employing extended techniques. Most recently, the Chamber Choir performed Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, as well as various settings of the Magnificat text by Palestrina, Bach, Bruckner, Pärt, and Górecki. The Chamber Choir was featured with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in a production of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and as the backup choir for the Eagles on their 2020 Hotel California tour. In academic year 2025-26, they performed works including American DREAMers by Melissa Dunphy and Missa Brevis K. 49 by Mozart.
