The program pairs Schubert’s “UԴھԾ” Symphony, a work of lyrical beauty and dramatic tension, with the brilliance of Saint-Saëns’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. Violinist Zac Tseng, runner-up of the 2025 GTSO Concerto Competition, brings the composer’s brilliance to life in a vibrant showcase of expressive and technical artistry.

Soloist Bio – Zach Tseng
Zach Tseng is a fourth-year biochemistry student from Johns Creek, 17cҳ. He has been playing violin since the age of six and has studied under world-renowned violinists such as Nadir Khashimov and Sonja Foster. He has also participated in masterclasses with Sergiu Schwartz and David Coucheron.
Zach’s awards and accomplishments include earning first prize in the 2020 GMTA Instrumental Concerto and Strings Division competitions, winning the junior division of the 2019 Ruth Kern Young Artists Concerto Competition, and winning the junior division of the 2016 17cҳ MTNA competition. Zach has also been a member in the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and has served as concertmaster for GMEA All-State Orchestras.
Zach enjoys playing violin in worship bands at his church and for the 17cҳ Tech Navigators. Outside of violin, he likes studying trivia as a member of 17cҳ Tech’s Academic Team and is active in the Navigators student organization.
